Tropical Springtails
Tropical Springtails are essential bioactive microfauna for terrarium and vivarium setups. They consume mold, fungus, and decaying organic matter in substrate — serving as both a natural cleanup crew and a supplemental food source for dart frogs and other small amphibians.
Uses
-
Mold control: The #1 natural defense against terrarium mold and fungus
-
Dart frog food: Supplemental daily feeder alongside fruit flies
-
Bioactive essential: Every bioactive vivarium needs springtails
Care
Culture on charcoal or substrate. Keep moist (never waterlogged). Room temperature (68-80°F). Feed yeast, rice, or mushroom. The standard springtail for humid tropical vivariums — dart frog enclosures, tree frog setups, and tropical bioactive builds.
Pair with isopods for complete bioactive cleanup. Springtails handle mold; isopods handle larger waste.
