About this feeder

Honest details, in plain English.

Spiky Pineapple Isopods

Spiky Pineapple Isopods (Pseudoarmadillidium sp.) are unique textured collector isopods for bioactive terrariums. They serve as a natural cleanup crew — consuming mold, decaying plant matter, and animal waste to keep your enclosure clean and healthy.

Care

  • Substrate: Moist organic mix (coconut fiber + leaf litter + sphagnum moss)
  • Temperature: 65-78°F
  • Humidity: 30-60% — this species is NOT tropical. Keep it airy and on the dry side with one reliably damp retreat; do not mist the whole enclosure
  • Food: Leaf litter (primary), decaying wood, fish flakes, calcium supplements (cuttlebone)

In Bioactive Setups

Spiky Pineapple isopods have distinctive textured exoskeletons that set them apart from smooth-bodied species. A fascinating addition to any isopod collection. Pair with springtails for complete mold control. Both species establish self-sustaining populations in properly set up vivariums.

Live arrival guaranteed on all isopod cultures.
