About this feeder

Honest details, in plain English.

Rubber Ducky Isopods

Rubber Ducky Isopods (Cubaris sp. Rubber Ducky) are premium collector isopods for bioactive terrariums. They serve as a natural cleanup crew — consuming mold, decaying plant matter, and animal waste to keep your enclosure clean and healthy.

Care

  • Substrate depth: at least 3-4 inches, so they can burrow and moult safely
Substrate: Moist organic mix (coconut fiber + leaf litter + sphagnum moss)
  • Temperature: 75-80°F
  • Humidity: 75-90% — keep a true moisture gradient: one side consistently damp, the other nearly dry under leaf litter
  • Food: Leaf litter (primary), decaying wood, fish flakes, calcium supplements (cuttlebone)

In Bioactive Setups

Rubber Ducky isopods are one of the most sought-after collector species in the isopod hobby — their unique yellow coloration and rounded shape make them instantly recognizable. They are slower breeding than common species and command premium pricing. Pair with springtails for complete mold control. Both species establish self-sustaining populations in properly set up vivariums.

Live arrival guaranteed on all isopod cultures.
