About this feeder
Honest details, in plain English.
Dwarf White Isopods
Dwarf White Isopods (Trichorhina tomentosa) are tiny, prolific isopods for bioactive terrariums. They serve as a natural cleanup crew — consuming mold, decaying plant matter, and animal waste to keep your enclosure clean and healthy.
Care
- Substrate: Moist organic mix (coconut fiber + leaf litter + sphagnum moss)
- Temperature: 70-80°F
- Humidity: 60-80% (provide both moist and dry areas)
- Food: Leaf litter (primary), decaying wood, fish flakes, calcium supplements (cuttlebone)
In Bioactive Setups
Dwarf Whites are the smallest commonly available isopod — making them ideal for small vivariums and dart frog setups where larger isopods might disturb small frogs. They breed prolifically and establish quickly. Pair with springtails for complete mold control. Both species establish self-sustaining populations in properly set up vivariums.
Live arrival guaranteed on all isopod cultures.
