Dairy Cow Isopods
Dairy Cow Isopods (Porcellio laevis) are medium-sized, striking isopods for bioactive terrariums. They serve as a natural cleanup crew — consuming mold, decaying plant matter, and animal waste to keep your enclosure clean and healthy.
Care
- Substrate: Moist organic mix (coconut fiber + leaf litter + sphagnum moss)
- Temperature: 70-80°F
- Humidity: 60-80% (provide both moist and dry areas)
- Food: Leaf litter (primary), decaying wood, fish flakes, calcium supplements (cuttlebone)
In Bioactive Setups
Dairy Cow isopods are named for their black-and-white spotted pattern. They are a medium-sized, moderately fast-breeding species that works well in both bioactive setups and as standalone pets in their own enclosure. Pair with springtails for complete mold control. Both species establish self-sustaining populations in properly set up vivariums.
Live arrival guaranteed on all isopod cultures.
