Purple Albino Tiger Reticulated Python

One animal carrying both genes. Each one is inherited separately, so this combination is made by bringing them together rather than being a gene of its own.

The two genes

Purple Albino
recessive
No black pigment, with the remaining pattern in lavender and cream over white.
Tiger
co-dominant
Pattern pulled sideways into bands, with the ground colour brightened. Two copies produce a Super Tiger, cleaner again and often nearly patternless down the sides.

How one is made

Both genes have to come together in the same animal. The pairing that does it most directly is Purple Albino × Tiger, which works out every outcome and its odds.

Worth knowing

Purple Albino. There are separate albino lines in this species. The Purple and White albinos are different genes: pairing one with the other produces no albino offspring at all, only normal-looking young carrying a copy of each. Establish which line an animal comes from before pairing it.
