Mack Super Snow Common Leopard Gecko

peer reviewedPAX7

Ullgate-Agote and Tzika (2024) investigated skin colour pattern changes in leopard geckos: hatchlings present with a banded pattern which changes to spots in adults. As part of this reserach they investigated the Mack Super Snow color morph and identified "that this morph lacks xanthophores and iridophores due to a genetic mutation in the PAX7 transcription factor."

Offspring odds

No numbers for this one.

No inheritance mode has been recorded for Mack Super Snow, so no offspring odds are given. Guessing one would be worse than saying nothing: a breeder would plan a season on it.

What this rests on

A peer-reviewed paper identifies the variant behind this morph in the gene PAX7.
