Enigma Tremper Albino Common Leopard Gecko

One animal carrying both genes. Each one is inherited separately, so this combination is made by bringing them together rather than being a gene of its own.

Documented health finding on one of these genes

Enigma. Animals carrying this gene are widely documented to show neurological signs — circling, star-gazing, loss of balance, and difficulty targeting food — commonly called Enigma Syndrome. It is associated with the gene itself rather than with husbandry, and severity varies between animals.

The two genes

Enigma
dominant
Speckled, broken pattern with a white tail and variable spotting.
Tremper Albino
recessive
Reduced black pigment with brown and yellow tones and lighter eyes.

How one is made

Both genes have to come together in the same animal. The pairing that does it most directly is Enigma × Tremper Albino, which works out every outcome and its odds.

Worth knowing

Tremper Albino. This is one of three separate albino strains. It is not compatible with Bell or Rainwater albino: pairing two different strains produces normal-looking offspring carrying one copy of each, and no albinos.
