(Rodriguez-Cabrera and Cardenas 2022: some say viviparous but with no good evidence), Greer 1967 suggest viviparous: "Schmidt (1928:107-108) reported two female D. pleii that con- tained "respectively one and three well-advanced embryos." This information plus the results of an examination of the embryos of four gravid females in the MCZ collection indicates that D. pleii is also live-bearing."
