Can a Uromastyx Eat Black Soldier Fly Larvae?

No — BSFL are not appropriate for a uromastyx.

Black soldier fly larvae — also sold as phoenix worms — are roughly 40–50% protein by dry weight, and they carry about 9,340 mg/kg of calcium.

That calcium figure is the whole reason to use them. Superworms carry around 100 mg/kg; mealworms are similarly poor. BSFL are the one common feeder that delivers calcium naturally, without dusting — which removes the single most commonly botched step in reptile feeding.

How Many, and How Often

None for adults — uromastyx are herbivores.

Why BSFL Suit a Uromastyx

Adults should be on a nearly all-plant diet. Juveniles take some insects, and if you offer any, a calcium-rich one is the sensible choice — but the answer for an adult is no.

What Else to Feed

Run them alongside leafy greens, vegetables and seeds. Variety still matters — no single feeder should be the whole diet, however good its numbers are.
